The following undergraduate institutions are collaborators with this program: Stephen F. Austin State University, Jarvis Christian University, Texas College, The University of Texas at Tyler, Wiley College, East Texas Baptist University, LeTourneau University, and Texas A&M University-Texarkana.

Undergraduate students classified as juniors or seniors and completed at least 60 credit hours from one of the collaborating institutions are eligible to apply to the EAP program.

*If you are a graduate from one of the collaborating institutions and have not been post-graduation more than two years, you are eligible to apply for the EAP program.

The Early Assurance Program works in two phases. 40 total students will be selected to participate in the EAP program. From those 40 students, the Admissions Committee can select up to 15 for admittance to the UT Tyler School of Medicine.

As of now, if you have completed your bachelors degree from one of the collaborating institutions, and have not be out of school more than two years, then you are still eligible to apply to the EAP program.

Letters of recommendation should come from individuals who are able to effectively and adequately write about your character, work ethic, and ability to succeed in medical school. These can be from professors, staff members at your institution, staff from a volunteer organization, religious clergy, and others.

  • You can submit three letters of recommendation.

You will put your current cumulative GPA into the application. We will also look at your last 30 hours of your BCPM.

We only need your unofficial undergraduate transcript to be uploaded into the application portal. If you are a transfer student, please upload all transcripts.
